This antique pine kitchen table features a belt drawer with a porcelain knob and rests on four square legs connected by an H-shaped stretcher. It originates from Central Europe, dating back to the early 20th century, where the pine was joined with mortise and tenon joints and painted in lime wash colours. The white porcelain knob dates the piece to around the 1880s, when this hardware became common in European domestic furniture. The low H-shaped stretcher was a typical solution to stiffen a work table without obstructing the knees. The belt houses a full-depth drawer on wooden slides. The legs are square in section, slightly tapered towards the bottom. The top is made of pine boards with open joints and edges softened by wear. The faded pink of the base has chipped away, revealing the wood and a previous ochre layer. The top, unfinished, has taken on a honey tone with stains around the drawer. This reflects the wear of a table used daily for decades. It serves as a small dining table, desk, or work surface in an open kitchen. Its faded pink adds colour without dominating the room and complements rustic or Scandinavian interiors. Details. Dimensions: Length 118 cm – Depth 68 cm – Height 80 cm. Style: Rustic.
