Antique secretary with marble top, late 19th century office furniture. Dimensions 75x40xh144cm. It opens with a drawer at the top, a flap and three drawers at the bottom. Their fronts are curved, inlaid with light wood representing floral motifs. Bronze handles, 1 key available, 4 functional locks. At mid-height, this piece of furniture is also rounded, reminiscent of the so-called "tombeau" chests of drawers specific to the Louis XIV style. Particularly curved lower part. The interior of this furniture offers a writing area with a gilded rim. The niche contains 3 drawers: 2 small drawers surmount 1 large trompe l'oeil. The uprights have bronze ornaments. The drawer interiors are made of solid oak. The drawers are mounted in dovetail. This secretary is in good condition considering its age (late 19th century) but has normal signs of use: some chips and scratches on the marble, incomplete or raised marquetry in some places, wear to the top covering in places, some old repairs.
