Glass secretary in mahogany from the late 18th century of very fine English quality from the Georgian period. A beautiful secretary composed of 4 drawers, a theatre in the lower part, and a glazed upper section that can serve as a library or display case. A large and uncommon model with superb doors decorated with mahogany mouldings. This very fine secretary is distinguished by a magnificent interior featuring a theatre with several arches and drawers, as well as a door. The drawers are decorated with lemonwood inlays, and the door showcases parquetry representing the Georgian star, a sign that it is from the 18th century in Georgian style. The door reveals two small drawers. The drop front of the secretary, as well as the 4 drawers, are decorated with a walnut inlay. The same inlay can be found on the upper section. The upper part consists of two glazed doors with a beautiful carved cornice. Original shelves with a lovely patina and moulding. It is possible to adjust the height of the shelves using a 18th-century system (the rack is notched into the furniture). Very nice patina and in superb condition. Closed depth: 61cm - Open depth: 97cm. Width with cornice: 1.26m.
