Elegant antique bouillotte table lamp with three lights, made of solid brass and featuring a beautiful original patina. This piece most likely dates from the period 1935–1950, with a consistent dating around the 1940s. It comes from the Palais Fontette, the former courthouse of Caen, an emblematic institutional place rich in history. The lamp rests on a brass base composed of three finely curved arms, each with a moulded circular bobeche. The fluted central shaft is topped with an openwork decorative element, adding elegance and balance to the whole. It is equipped with three flame-shaped bulbs with wax drip decoration, diffusing a soft and warm light. The original pleated lampshade, in cream fabric edged with a black trim, contributes to the muted and timeless atmosphere of the piece. The electrical cord is made of twisted textile with an old plastic switch, in line with the fittings of the time. The lamp is functional. The lampshade shows signs of wear and slight visible tears, consistent with the age and authenticity of the object. The brass offers a homogeneous natural patina, with no recent restoration. A characterful lamp, ideal for a classic, Haussmannian interior, a country house, an office, or a space with historical elegance.
