Delicate celadon porcelain vase made by Robert Deblander (1924-2010), a ceramist from Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, in Nièvre. This piece, of great finesse, features an elegant lenticular shape with widely rounded shoulders, resting on a small foot and topped with a short neck. Its celadon glaze, with very soft shades of water green and pale blue, reveals a subtle engraved decoration of plant and floral motifs. The delicate lines of the decoration discreetly emerge under the translucent glaze, creating beautiful plays of light. The purity of the form, the finesse of the porcelain, and the subtlety of the glazing testify to a perfect technical mastery and a particular sensitivity to extreme oriental ceramic traditions. Robert Deblander (1924-2010) is one of the great figures of French ceramics in the second half of the 20th century. After training at the École nationale supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris, he opened his first workshop in 1949, then settled in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye in the early 1960s. He developed a body of work characterised by the purity of forms and research on glazes. His work on porcelain, particularly celadons, reflects his interest in the great Asian ceramic traditions. His works are held in several public collections, including those of the Musée national de céramique in Sèvres. Robert Deblander is referenced in the book "Grès de Puisaye, de Jean Carriès à nos jours – Marques et signatures, " dedicated to the potters and ceramists of the region. A very lovely collectible piece, particularly refined, illustrating the search for balance between form, material, and decoration characteristic of Robert Deblander. Dimensions: Height: 6 cm.
