Large celadon glazed stoneware vase – Le Cep, Villenauxe-la-Grande, vintage. Elegant round vase in celadon glazed stoneware signed Le Cep, from the ceramic workshop in Villenauxe-la-Grande, in the Aube region. Its generous silhouette is enhanced by a celadon glaze with shades of water green and grey. The shiny surface features a delicate crackle, punctuated by small brown marks that add depth and character to the piece. Its short, narrow neck harmoniously balances its volumes. With its understated and sculptural aesthetic, this vase fits well in both vintage and contemporary or Japanese-inspired interiors. The base bears the incised signature "Le Cep" as well as the number 109. The workshop was founded by Jean Tessier in 1959; his son Julien Tessier also worked under this name. The attribution to either ceramist and the exact date of manufacture remain to be confirmed.
