Decorative illustration sheet by René Binet, 1902 edition. Superb illustration on the theme of ceramics, depicting a facade covered in brightly colored ceramic tiles. A beautiful piece for framing. In very good condition, signed lower right. 45 X 33 cm. René Binet (1866-1911) designed the monumental gateway on the Place de la Concorde for the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris, and the reconstruction of the Printemps department stores. In his masterful work "Esquisses décoratifs" (Decorative Sketches), he explains his approach, inspired by Goethe's "Theory of Colors" and the work of the German biologist Ernst Haeckel.
