The present work of art titled "Urban Abstraction (ripped off posters)" is part of a series of paintings that the artist composed in the 1980s and 1990s inspired by the observation of the urban reality of those years. The artist drew inspiration from his walks in Florence, exploring both the city center and the suburbs, observing billboards and posters. These masses of information, colors, messages, and words were carried onto the canvas with acrylic colors, ideally reconstructing the tears and layers of all the advertisements and news displayed across city landscapes. The geometric lines are overlaid with jagged lines, overlaps, and color drippings. The color palette features shades of white, gray, rose, orange, red, and blue, helping to represent the fragmented nature of the ripped paper. The result is a beautiful multicolored modern abstract canvas, artistically and ethically layered, full of depth, color, and the artist's intended message. The painting is displayed in a modern white lacquered wood frame. Andrea Spinelli, a Florentine artist, painter, restorer, and craftsman, is known for blending traditional painting techniques with modern tools and technology. His works reflect his multifaceted skills as a modern Renaissance man. While studying and teaching at the SACI school in Florence in the 1980s, he traveled extensively and received international commissions and participated in multiple exhibitions worldwide. Dimensions: Width 83 cm, Height 53 cm, Depth 3 cm.
