Preben Sorensen shelving unit with vinyl records cabinet for PS System, Randers, Denmark 1960s

This elegant mid-century shelving unit with a vinyl records cabinet was designed by Preben Sorensen for PS System and manufactured in Randers in Denmark in the 1960s and is a stunning example of Scandinavian design and craftsmanship.  The dimensions of the unit are H: 199 / W: 243 / D: 40 cm. The set includes a vinyl records cabinet offering generous storage for your favorite LPs, magazines or pictures and a drop-door cabinet that can perfectly serve both as a hidden desk or as a bar cabinet, while several open shelves and a console with two drawers provide ample space for books and decorative objects. The modular construction allows flexible arrangement and effortless adaptation to individual needs. Each element can be adjusted, placed higher, lower or reconfigured to achieve the desired composition. The shown setup is just an example. The label confirms the authenticity of the furniture’s origin. The set includes: Cabinet with drop-down doors H: 40 / W: 80 / D: 40 cm (depth when fully open: 74 cm), Vinyl records cabinet H: 40 / W: 80 / D: 40 cm (partitions every 12 cm), A console H: 12 / W: 80 / D: 30 cm (drawers inner height is 8 cm), 10 shelves 20 cm depth, 4 mounting rails 199 cm long, Brass hangers. The unit has been carefully renovated. The wood has been cleaned and protected with several thin layers of satin lacquer. All components fit properly and are fully functional.
