Jean Grégorieff coffee table for Roche Bobois France 1970

Superb vintage rectangular coffee table published by Roche Bobois in the 1970s, designed and made by the designer Jean Gregorieff. Jean Gregorieff, a contemporary painter and ceramist of Pablo Picasso, is an emblematic piece of French brutalist and modernist design from that era. Documented in the Roche Bobois catalogue. The top features two large inset panels made of enamelled lava stone tiles. Geometric checkerboard pattern combined with relief engravings inspired by mineral and solar motifs (rosettes, fossils). Warm shades of ochre, mustard yellow, sienna, brown, and crackled white with a textured finish. Frame and legs with a square section in brushed/chromed steel, ensuring excellent stability and a pronounced 70s style. Due to the density of the lava stone and its solid steel structure, this is an extremely heavy table, a testament to its high-quality craftsmanship. Two people are recommended for carrying. In very good condition, with wear and scratches due to its age.
