French stoneware grapefruit sparkling drink bottles set of 3 blue and cream advertising jars. A charming set of three French earthenware bottles, once used for grapefruit sparkling drink, likely dating to the early–mid 20th century when ceramic advertising vessels were both practical and beautifully made. The rich cobalt blue glaze to the neck contrasts perfectly with the warm cream body, finished with a crisp transfer print crest and “Grape Fruit Sparkling Drink” lettering. These bottles would have stood behind a café counter or grocer’s shelf, quietly embodying a time when even everyday refreshments were presented with style and permanence. Each bottle has a wonderfully tactile presence – solid, weighty, and pleasingly proportioned with a narrow neck and rounded shoulders. The glaze has a soft sheen, with subtle speckling visible in the blue and gentle age toning to the cream body that adds depth and authenticity. The printed crest remains clear and decorative across all three. Condition is very good for their age, with light surface wear, minor glaze irregularities and small marks consistent with use, and slight variations between each piece that only enhance their character. No major damage noted. A striking decorative trio for a kitchen shelf, collection, or rustic interior.
