An old military stoneware bottle or jug marked "S.R.D.", used for transporting alcohol rations during the Second World War. Very thick and robust stoneware (weight: 3291 kilos). The marking S.R.D. Stands for Supply Reserve Depot (or Special Reserve Depot). This type of container was used to distribute rum or whisky from the daily ration to the troops at the front. Made from sturdy stoneware, it is two-tone with a light beige glazed body and a brown neck.
