Pair of model 2254 armchairs in oak and woven rattan, with original removable cushions upholstered in olive green wool. Børge Mogensen for Fredericia, Denmark, 1956-57. Designed by Børge Mogensen in 1956-57, the “Medestolen” armchairs, model 2254, were produced by Fredericia Stolefabrik. One of the central figures of Danish Modern, Mogensen began an important collaboration with Fredericia and Andreas Graversen in 1955, based on natural materials, clearly expressed construction and furniture conceived to last. The geometric oak frames support woven rattan seats and backs, completed by the original removable cushions upholstered in olive green wool and preserved in excellent condition. The leather straps have been replaced. The armchairs are in excellent overall condition; the rattan shows minor localized damage in a few areas, visible in the photographs. Please pay attention to the photographs. AG291
