Mahogany Ronce Hairdresser, Restoration Period – Early 19th Century

This mahogany burr veneer dressing table opens with a compartmentalised drawer equipped with a functional lock and authentic keyhole. It is topped with a veined grey Carrara marble, which is cracked at one corner. This dressing table features a large, adjustable, pivoting circular mercury mirror. It is supported at the front by two curved legs, which taper slightly towards the bottom and end in claw feet at the front. The rear supports are straight. The entire piece rests on a concave stretcher base at the front, which ends in two "pancake" feet at the front.
