The Port of Rouen. In the style of Frank-Will (1900-1950), who painted Rouen extensively. Watercolor. Signed, titled, and dated 1974 lower right. 38 X 52 cm. Framed. Impeccable and pristine condition. Born in Poitiers, he studied Fine Arts in Orléans and honed his craft and talent in Paris as an illustrator of comic strips and serials that proliferated in the post-war press. It was in Normandy that Guy Marc chose to dedicate himself to painting and watercolor. "He placed himself outside of the present time and navigated through all eras in order to situate his characters in a picturesque environment represented by the old streets, the villages, the seasons which singularize the Norman nature, revealing with an assured stroke and a sensitive composition the charms of this region" (André RUELLAN, art critic).
