Rare cabinetmaker's furniture in solid cherry wood with a veneered top. Mechanism in working order as well as the lock. Very beautiful secretary, probably from the mid-21st century. Rare secretary of very fine craftsmanship: The top opens with a flap that reveals 4 secret drawers. Dovetail construction of the drawers. Pegged assembly. Curved legs with bronze sabot in Louis XV style. The upper surface is inlaid with a chess or checkers board in marquetry. The top opens in two with a lock to reveal. A workspace lined with leather (the leather shows some variations but no damage). 4 secret drawers that appear through the flap opening mechanism. Opening mechanism synchronised with the top. Approximate total dimensions. D45 cm X H75.5 cm X W79 cm. Internal dimensions of the drawers. Drawer under the top with 2 compartments due to the mechanism. Small drawers. D10.9 cm X W14.5 cm x H3.8 cm. Depth of the top in front of the drawers: 44 cm. Second-hand furniture in very good vintage condition: The drawers show slight stains (see photos). The marquetry has some small scratches, and one square of the board shows variations in colour. The floral marquetry framing the chess/checkers board has lost some of its shine. However, the furniture is otherwise in very good condition. Please ask me for a transport quote before purchase.
