Exceptional set with this vase, carafe, and presentation plate that can serve in the kitchen or as a catch-all on a console. La Poterie du Colombier officially began its activity in 1960. It is the original name of what would later become the very famous Poterie de la Colombe. The adventure started in Orriule (in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques), led by the couple Marcel and Madeleine Brault. Everything unfolded in two stages: 1958: A decisive meeting in Morocco between Marcel Brault and the ceramist Claude Pantzer, who introduced the family to the secrets of glazes and firing. 1960: The Brault family left Morocco to settle in a farm in Orriule and set up the workshop there. It was at this point that production truly began, utilising a local white clay. The workshop became known for its pieces in glazed stoneware and its "tachiste" decorations, before distributing a large part of its production in Vallauris (notably through collaborations with Roger Capron) and definitively taking the name La Colombe. These pieces are rarer than "la Colombe" as they are the couple's first creations. One can only admire the quality, craftsmanship, and modernity of the finish! Fast and careful shipping 🎁.
