Very beautiful flamed stoneware bowl made by the Nault pottery in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, in Nièvre. This piece features an elegant circular shape, widely open, with slightly flared edges. Its sober and balanced silhouette particularly highlights the richness of its glazing. Its remarkable decoration combines shades of reddish brown, wine, ochre, and cream beige. The drip effects, enamel projections, and numerous speckles create an abstract and spontaneous composition. The fine concentric traces from the turning, visible at the bottom of the bowl, add movement to the whole. The Nault pottery, notably led by André Nault, is part of the historic workshops of Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye. Committed to the tradition of high-fired stoneware, it contributes to the preservation and development of local pottery craftsmanship in the 20th century. Its productions stand out for their utilitarian and decorative forms, as well as the diversity of their glazes. The Nault pottery is referenced in the book "Grès de Puisaye, de Jean Carriès à nos jours – Marques et signatures, " dedicated to the history of potters and ceramists in the region. A beautiful collectible piece, representative of the tradition of flamed stoneware from Puisaye, particularly decorative due to the richness and spontaneity of its glazing. Dimensions: Diameter: 20 cm. Height: 5 cm. Condition: perfect condition.
