Modern double bed in Northern European style with integrated floating nightstands, 1950s.

Rare modern double bed from Northern Europe with integrated floating nightstands, 1950s. A very balanced design with clean lines and a calming architectural presence. The integrated nightstands seem to almost float beside the frame, giving the bed a light appearance despite its generous proportions. Made of teak with solid brass details and the original spiral metal supports still present. These supports were designed to prevent sagging and provide additional stability and comfort. The overall construction is meticulous, especially in how the different materials are combined. Simple, yet with enough details to remain interesting. The bed comfortably accommodates a mattress of about 195 cm in length, although a 200 cm mattress may also fit depending on the type and flexibility of the mattress. The teak has developed a warm patina over the decades, and the brass has aged naturally. The bed remains in very good condition with normal signs of age and use. Structurally solid. An uncommon model, especially complete with the two original nightstands and matching bases. Fits very well in both minimalist and more eclectic interiors. We can handle shipping ourselves and are often much faster than others, with delivery to the United States and Asia sometimes in less than two weeks.
