Set of 2 vintage cups with gold flowers Villeroy Boch Mettlach

This lovely set of 2 cups and saucers features a lovely golden flower decoration. This service by villeroy and boch is made of opaque earthenware. Also called iron earth, it is a lovely cream colour. It bears the vb mark for "villeroy & boch". This model dates from the 1950s, it can be dated quite precisely by the mention economic union france saar in the signature on the rest of the service: this union of the county of saar was established between 1947 and 1956. In good general condition, I note traces of use (cracks, scratches and wear of the gilding in places). Dimension: cups - 9 cm in diameter.
