Pair of Polychrome Carved Wood Wall Lights with Vase and Acanthus. Arm in Iron.

Each wall light features a sculpted wooden wall plate in high relief: a fluted vase on a pedestal, from which a bouquet of acanthus leaves emerges, framed by opposing scrolls forming a pediment. The patinated polychromy blends terracotta, almond green, and cream highlights, reminiscent of Venetian lacquers. Two wrought iron arms with scrolls extend laterally, ending in drip trays for faux candles covered in fabric. This vocabulary of floral vases and acanthus, treated in patinated polychrome wood, is typical of Italian workshops from the turn of the 20th century, which perpetuated the baroque tradition of sculpted woodwork from Venice and Tuscany to adorn interiors with an antique spirit. Condition report: Generally good condition. Old polychromy with a beautiful patina, wear and small scattered losses inherent to the age and charm of these objects. A pair full of character, charming in an entrance, a corridor, or on either side of a mirror.
