An exceptional pair of elegant antique rocaille wall lamps, crafted from gilded wood with original mirrored panels that display a beautiful, aged patina. Hand-carved and richly ornamented (acanthus leaves, birds, etc.). These rare wall lamps are ideal for those who appreciate the charm of bygone eras. The gilded wood surface incorporates antique mirrored panels as a decorative element. The lamps are made of intricately hand-carved, gilded wood and adorned with decorative acanthus leaves, rocaille motifs, and two stylized birds above lush, scrolling rocaille frames, featuring the three original distressed mirrored panels. This detailed ornamentation is typical of the sophisticated rococo and neoclassical tastes of the 19th century. Made in France in the late 19th century, exquisitely crafted in the classic Louis XVI style, most likely originally designed for candlelight, professionally electrified in Belgium in the mid-20th century, as evidenced by a label on the back. Material: carved and gilded wood, antique mirror plates. Socket: 2 x e14 bulbs per light, each fitted with candle holders. Notes: the decorative patina and signs of age emphasize its antique character. Style: Louis XVI / rocaille / neoclassical. The wiring of this item may be original.
