An extraordinary pair of elegant antique Rocaille wall lamps, gilded wood with original mirror plates showing a beautiful old patina, hand-carved, rich ornamentation (acanthus leaves, birds, etc.). These rare wall lights are ideal for lovers of the charm of past eras. Gilded wood surface, with antique mirror plates integrated as a decorative element. The sconces consist of artistic, richly hand-carved, gilded wood and are adorned with decorative acanthus leaves, Rocaille motifs, and two stylised birds over lush scrolling leafy Rocaille frames with the three original distressed mirrored plates. This intricate ornamentation is typical of the representative Rococo and Neoclassical taste of the 19th century. Born in France in the late 19th century, exquisitely crafted in the classic Louis XVI style, most likely originally designed for candlelight, professionally electrified in the mid-20th century in Belgium, as evidenced by a label on the back.
