Brutalist bench, 19th, wabi-sabi, France

Authentic French farmhouse bench from the 19th century made of solid oak, featuring a simple look and remarkable sculptural presence. Found deep in rural Aveyron. Its clean lines, elongated proportions, and slightly angled legs give it an aesthetic at the intersection of wabi-sabi, brutalist, primitive, and cottage styles. Entirely made of solid oak, this bench is appealing with its beautiful deep brown patina. The top retains a natural irregularity without compromising its sturdiness. There are also some old marks on the legs. The wood has been treated, is perfectly healthy, and robust. The structure is ready for daily use. Equally at home in an entrance, around a large table, at the foot of a bed, or as a decorative element in a contemporary interior.
