Authentic Serpente lamp by Elio Martinelli (Luce) 1960

I am selling a genuine icon of Italian Space Age design: the "Serpente" table lamp model 599, designed by Elio Martinelli. This is a first-hand family piece, purchased new by my grandparents in Annecy. It is in excellent and well-maintained condition. The white lacquered metal arm rotates perfectly, and the opaline white methacrylate dome is clean and has no chips. The cable and switch are original. The power plug has been discreetly modernised to meet safety standards. Markings and information from the publisher are engraved under the base and on heavy cast iron (the lamp is quite heavy). The piece can be viewed in the Annecy area or sent only under secure conditions.
