Table lamps by Tommaso Barbi, Italy 1970s

Rare set of 2 impressive Hollywood Regency table lamps by Tommaso Barbi, handcrafted in glossy brown ceramic and milky white Murano glass. The square base of the lamp is charming with a finely crafted row of Murano glass buttons, crossed at the corners by small brass strips. These rows of shiny Murano glass are framed by a shimmering brown ceramic with a marbled appearance, typical of Italian design. The ceramic base becomes round towards the top and is finished with a beautiful milky Murano glass bulb shape. The finish is a circular plate in gilded brass. The whole forms an astonishing and very harmonious composition of three different materials. The lamps produce a lovely warm light and are therefore the perfect eye-catcher for a modern mid-century style interior! Label and original mark inside the bottom.
