Wall-mounted dresser in pine by Charlotte Perriand, from the Les Belles Challes residence in Arc 1800. Originally created in 1952 for Charlotte Perriand's personal apartment on rue Las Cases in Paris, this model holds a special place in her work. Perriand also used it in her chalet in Méribel, before adapting it in 1967 for the developments in Les Arcs. This continuity between her own living spaces and large mountain projects is characteristic of her approach. A solution conceived on a domestic scale is preserved, transformed, and ultimately integrated into a collective project accommodating thousands of residents. The dresser is entirely made of fir. Two side uprights with a cut profile structure the piece and support the various horizontal elements intended for storing dishes. Fixed to the wall, it keeps the floor clear and contributes to the very rational organisation of space developed by Perriand for mountain apartments. This example comes from the Les Belles Challes residence in Arc 1800, where the model finds a new application nearly twenty years after its creation for rue Las Cases.
