Paolo Deganello Torso Lounge Chair for Cassina Italy 1982
Postmodern Torso lounge chair, designed by the Italian architect and designer Paolo Deganello in 1982 for Cassina Italy. Deganello was one of the founders of the influential Archizoom Group. The design challenges the traditional rules of furniture design and is known for its radical, deconstructivist aesthetic. The asymmetrical chair has a pale yellow/cream fabric backrest and a dark blue leather seat, both still original. The base is made of lacquered tubular steel. Very comfortable seating. The chair is in good original condition. The leather seat is still excellent, the fabric has some normal traces of use, such as a few tiny light stains (hardly visible). The back leg has little lacquer damage at the bottom.
