Rosanna Toso, a prominent figure within the prestigious Toso family, played a crucial role in the artistic legacy of the island of Murano, particularly with the pioneering company Barovier Toso. In collaboration with her siblings, she contributed her talent to the renowned "Fratelli Toso" (1854-1983), where she served as director from the mid-1970s until its closure in 1983. After this period, Rosanna dedicated herself to lighting design, leaving a lasting mark at Leucos. Among her notable creations is the enchanting "Idra" series, born in 1982, which was later produced in various sizes and colours, enhancing spaces as refined table lamps and wall sconces. Using the Sommerso artistic technique, these lamps reveal a meticulous layering of glass sheets to achieve both thickness and a captivating illusion of depth. Integrated within these layers, carefully positioned murrines add an artistic touch, evoking the impression of a cascade gracefully descending from the top to the base of each captivating globe.
