Beautiful ancient Indian ritual table of the bajot type, made from hard shisham wood, featuring geometric decoration and hammered brass appliqués. Traditional handcrafted work likely originating from Rajasthan or Gujarat, dating from the late 19th century. The tabletop showcases a simple and elegant geometric composition with metal framing, a central diamond, and decorative triangular motifs. The hand-cut and hammered brass plates provide a striking visual presence. The construction is entirely handmade: Turned antique legs, Manual joinery, Irregular forged nails, Rough underside with old crosspieces, Beautiful patina consistent with age. There are ancient inscriptions on the reverse. A very fine piece of ethnographic and decorative furniture, both understated and sculptural. Condition: Beautiful old patina consistent with age and use. Oxidation and old marks consistent with antiquity. Dimensions: Height: 18 cm. Length: 62 cm. Width: 62 cm.
