Chinese scholar's table - forming a low table or bed end - Kang in beautifully grained elm wood, stained red. It is mounted on four small legs ending in sabots supporting the rectangular top. Antique Chinese work in the Ming style with traditional assembly with visible tenons on the short sides. Very stable, it has the traces of normal use (with snags on the edges) and visible later reinforcements under the top. Protective felt pads under the feet. Top: 81 X 38.5 cm Height: 25.5 cm.
