Superb Belgian Wasmuel slipware pitcher, dating from the late 19th/early 20th century, depicting Mercury, the god of commerce and travelers. A typical example of the Art Nouveau style, with its finely modeled reliefs, nuanced green, blue, and brown colors, and burgundy interior glass. Dimensions: Height: 17.5 cm. Diameter at the base: 11.5 cm. Total length (from spout to handle): 15 cm. Details and condition: Embossed marking under the base, with a number and traces of a letter (see photos). Visible crazing in the glaze (typical of antique slipware). A slight, stable, and barely visible crack next to the spout. Underneath the pitcher, it's not a crack as there's no trace of it inside; it's likely a firing crack or a hairline crack, which doesn't affect the piece's solidity. No chips. Overall condition very good for its age, beautiful glaze shine. An authentic collector's item, ideal for enthusiasts of Belgian earthenware, antique slipware, or vintage decor.
