Superb and extremely rare modernist desk from around 1960, incorporating both Art Deco codes and the minimalism of the 1950s. The structure is made of solid oak (notably the drawers) covered with a thick veneer of blonde rosewood. This model is referred to as "mid" because it can be placed in the centre of a room; its originality lies in the fact that one side features a cabinet with three drawers on a satin black plinth (Art Deco style), while the other side has a panel supported by magnificent splayed legs (1950s style). There is a shelf beneath the top, which has a custom glass piece that can be placed for protection. The drawers are dovetail jointed and mounted on metal rails. The drawer knobs are stylised in bronze, and the interiors are lined with green felt. Dimensions are 103x60x77 cm in height (top 100x60 cm at 73 cm high). In superb condition with a beautiful patina, there is just a micro chip at the bottom of the cabinet on the right (see last photo). A piece of very high quality, completely in line with current decor trends. Not to be missed!!!
