Art Deco vase, transparent glass, Poland, 1930s

A vase from the 1930s made in the Polish Niemen glassworks from pressed glass, kept in a transparent, cool tone. The slender, elongated form is accentuated by rhythmically arranged vertical grooves on the surface, which serve as decorative accents and enhance the effect of refracted light—a typical feature of the Art Deco style. The body gently widens towards the top and transitions into a delicately wavy edge. At the base, there is a unique, three-part petal arrangement reminiscent of stylised floral or root motifs, also characteristic of the geometric yet organic influences of this era. The glass has a semi-gloss, distinctly textured finish with visible traces of the pressing technique. No visible damage, chips or restoration—preserved in very good condition, with minor, superficial signs consistent with age. The form of this vase reflects the optimism and decorative discipline of the 1930s. Each rhythmic groove on the surface tells the story of a fascination with light and structure—so valued by Art Deco designers, who could combine geometric harmony with the softness of organic forms. When light passes through the transparent glass and glides over the wavy edge, the vase gains an aura of an object that preserves the memory of a bygone era, yet can still be rediscovered.
