Superb trio of square Italian earthenware plates signed MARI E.C. DERUTA. Model 962.21. Each piece is hand-painted by a decorator identified by the initials E.C., in a delicate botanical style inspired by antique herbarium plates: Ranuncolo (buttercup), Brunia, Garou (daphne). Their square design and colorful decorations reflect the mid-century Italian aesthetic of the 1960s and 1970s. Both decorative pieces and collectibles, they are perfect for a wall arrangement or a poetic display. Stamped MARI.EC. DERUTTA 962.21. Beautiful vintage condition, luminous glaze, slight original irregularities related to the craftsmanship, one plate has three chips under the base and rim (see photos).
