Mediterranean elegance is the order of the day with this rare duo of handcrafted earthenware plates from the prestigious El Kharraz factory in Nabeul (Tunisia), one of the greatest families of ceramists in Cap Bon in the 20th century. White and refined, they are hand-decorated with a central cobalt blue rosette, a geometric motif inspired by Andalusian heritage, both sober and refined. On the reverse, the handwritten signature Kharraz Nabeul attests to their authenticity and historical origin. From the beginning of the 20th century, especially under the French Protectorate (1881–1956), many workshops in Nabeul (including the Kharraz, Chemla, Tissier, Verclos, etc.) also signed their pieces in Latin letters, to appeal to European customers. Diameter 23 cm Good general condition, some small irregularities in the enamelling and traces of wear (mini chips) on the edges, evidence of the craftsmanship and their history (see photos). Collector's pieces, rare on the market, evidence of the golden age of Nabeul artistic pottery, combining artisanal tradition and timeless modernity.
