Lali is the first centerpiece of this collection. Its generous curves invite to a peaceful malice. Hand-shaped into local Guatemalan land taken by hand, the terracotta is left raw as a salute to the ground of this region. Limited edition of 4 pieces. Not suitable for food use. Nourished by various stays in Central America, Sophie Parachey's work questions the change of scenery, the antagonism of the ancestral and the modern, and the relationship to the living. His pieces are modeled in sandstone or collected earth, which are expressed according to their curves, textures and resonances. Rough or smoothed, they tell together a paradoxical universe. Primary and raw volumes, barely hatched from magma, rub shoulders with softer, more subtle forms. From this astonishing cohabitation seems to be reborn a new balance.
