Aalto Alvar - Iittala / Opal glass bowl / Finnish design

The Aalto bowl, created by Alvar Aalto in 1936. Each Aalto bowl is unique, mouth-blown, hand-cut, and then polished several times at the Iittala glassworks for nearly a century. This piece is part of the iconic pieces of Finnish design. The bowl is a variation of the famous Savoy vase. Inspired by the organic and fluid shapes of nature, particularly the lake landscapes of Finland. Engraved underneath: Alvar Aalto Iittala + label. An imperceptible chip on the edge, on the transparent part. Dimensions approximately: 5cm X 19cm. 545g.
