Signed raku ceramic mask, wooden base – Contemporary sculpture 29 cm

Stunning stylized face sculpture in raku ceramic, mounted on a turned wooden base. The whole measures 29 cm in height, including 18 cm for the mask alone. This generously sized mask combines very rich surface effects, alternating shiny and matte areas, porous textures and marked cracks. The colors – golden beige, bright turquoise, black, red – evoke a world that is both dreamlike and graphic. The piece is signed on the back, with an incised mark similar to those observed on the other sculptures, probably from the same contemporary European ceramist. The modeling and glazing work demonstrates mastered expertise. The condition is good, the visible cracks are part of the raku process and do not present any fragility. A unique and expressive piece, perfect for displaying in a library, gallery or interior with an artistic tendency.
