French Art Deco Ceiling Light ROS Degue Frosted Molded Glass Plafonnier

Elegant French Art Deco plafonnier ceiling light, circa 1930, crafted in molded frosted white glass and signed ROS, a signature associated with Degué on select lighting designs of the period. The beautifully sculpted shade is richly decorated with stylized clusters of flowers, cubist-inspired leaves, and geometric motifs characteristic of the refined Art Deco aesthetic. Suspended from its original rope supports with a matching cup-form ceiling fitter, this fixture combines sculptural artistry with authentic period detail. The light is lit with a single bulb and the opaque shade diffuses the light giving a warm ambient glow when lit.The light has French twin core wiring and takes a large bayonet bulb B22. The shade is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. It does have some air bubbles within the glass which is a common feature in glass lighting from this era. The signature is clearly visible on the shade. The ropes and ceiling canopy show some age related marks and areas of discolouration with some fraying.
