Elegant French Art Deco Plafonnier Ceiling Light by Degué, Circa 1930 Rose and abstract design. The beautifully sculpted shade is richly decorated with stylised rose blossoms and geometric motifs, reflecting the refined elegance and craftsmanship synonymous with the French Art Deco movement. The original rope suspension is retained, with the cords secured by charming wooden buttons, preserving the fixture's authentic period character. The ceiling fitter is a later replacement, finished in an aged bronze-effect metal that complements the design while remaining sympathetic to its vintage aesthetic. The plafonnier is fitted with a single bulb, and the opaque frosted glass softly diffuses the light, creating a warm, inviting ambient glow.The light has French braided twin core wiring and takes a large E27 screw in bulb. In good vintage condition. The frosted glass shade has no chips or cracks. There are a few small air bubbles within the glass, which are typical of glass made during this period and are part of its original manufacture. The shade shows some age-related marks and blemishes consistent with nearly 100 years of use. The original wooden suspension buttons have varying degrees of wear, adding to the authentic vintage character of the piece.
