Vintage 1950s floor ashtray in brass and onyx.

Vintage floor ashtray, very typical of the mid-20th century (around the 1950s to 1970s). It is made of gilded brass and sections of onyx in cream and amber tones. The upper receptacle features relief patterns in a neoclassical or baroque style, often depicting stylised dolphins or marine creatures, which was very fashionable for this type of Hollywood Regency decorative accessory. The mechanism on top allows the metal tray to rotate. By pressing, the ashes and cigarette butts fall into the lower reservoir, helping to mask odours and keep the surface clean. In good condition with a beautiful patina. Ideal for retro or chic vintage decoration. Diameter 12, height 67.
