Chippendale bedside tables/commodes, Italian, 1940s/1950s.

Italian Chippendale bedside tables/commodes, 1940s/1950s. A matched pair of antique bedside cabinets, made from figured maple veneer and solid wood. Each cabinet features an elegant shape with a unique cupboard door, resting on cabriole legs. The tops are fitted with black glass panels. They have been crafted to a high level of workmanship. They are a good size and weight, making them very stable. There are cracks on the back edge of one of the glass tops (visible in the photos), but they are glued, so functional. They are well-preserved with all their original parts. The condition is excellent for their age, despite some minor scratches/defects due to age and use (visible in the photos). They have been refreshed only with wax, preserving their splendid natural patina after years. Measurements: Width 61 cm x Height 67 cm x Depth 40 cm. Made in Milan, Italy. Period: 1950s/1960s.
