The base is stamped with the "crowned dragon" (or salamander) mark, an old brand that adds character and authenticity to the piece. This is a piece attributed to André-Lucien Malfert, a famous forger from the early 20th century, known for his copies of antique furniture that are now sought after and have their own value in the market.
