Mid Century Modern Italian Wood Cabinet, George Coslin for 3V Arredamenti Padova. An exceptional Mid-Century Modern vanity dresser / chiffonier designed by the American-born architect George Coslin and produced in Padua, Italy, by 3V Arredamenti during the early 1960s. This piece is a masterclass in Italian mid century modern, brilliantly combining a clean, Scandinavian-inspired profile with high-end Italian craftsmanship. The cabinet is beautifully veneered in warm walnut on the outer shell and sides, while the front of the four large drawers features a richly figured, deep wood veneer with dramatic, contrasting fiammature grain. Each drawer is accented by Coslin's signature, organically sculpted solid rosewood semi-lune handles. The upper section is incredibly versatile and well-engineered: a white laminate sliding door reveals an adjustable shelving compartment on one side and a clever, pull-out vanity station on the other. The circular mirror is mounted on a remarkable original brass accordion-style extendable arm, allowing it to pivot and extend forward effortlessly out of the cabinet. Notably, the back of the piece is fully veneered and finished, allowing it to be used as a room divider or placed anywhere within an open space. Expertly restored by our restoring team. The piece is in excellent vintage condition, maintaining its full structural integrity, smooth mechanical movements (drawers, sliding door, and brass mirror extension), and all original components. The wood has been meticulously cleaned and nourished to enhance its natural patina and vivid grain. Only very minor, superficial signs of age consistent with a carefully preserved piece of its era.
