A teak secretary from the 1960s, designed in the spirit of Scandinavian modernism and manugactured in Denmark. Its most distinctive feature is the shape of the side panels, which curve gently from the taller upper section down to the lower chest. This gives the piece a light, dynamic silhouette, completed by slender turned legs. The drawer fronts have carved oval handles that keep the lines clean. Unfortunately, we have not been able to identify the designer or manufacturer of this unique piece. The secretary combines several functions in one compact piece of furniture. The lower section has three spacious drawers. Above them is a pull-out work surface 46 cm deep. Pulled out, it turns the piece into a comfortable desk for writing or working on a laptop, and pushed back in, it disappears to leave a neat chest of drawers. The upper section holds three small drawers with turned knobs, an open niche with a shelf and a compartment closed with a flap. Hidden inside the compartment is a lift-up mirror, so the secretary can also serve as a vanity. At the very top there is an open shelf for books or decorative objects. It is ideal for a small home office, bedroom or hallway, anywhere practicality matters in a limited space. The piece has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. Thanks to these treatments, the secretary looks stunning and will serve its new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear from everyday use.
