Pair of antique cloisonné bronze vases, China or Japan circa 1900-1930.

A pair of antique bronze vases with polychrome enamel decoration, inspired by archaic Asian ritual forms. The body is finely chiselled with a regular geometric pattern, contrasting with the enamelled friezes in blue, turquoise, red, green, cream, and white. Each vase features side rings, enhancing their sculptural silhouette and decorative presence. The enamels show wear, chips, and losses in places, particularly visible on the raised areas. This is consistent with the age and method of manufacture, and does not detract from the solidity or decorative impact of the whole, contributing to its patina.
