This decorative pair of bronze cloisonné vases was made in Japan in the late 19th century. The vases have handles in the form of animal heads and are decorated with fine champlevé enamel in deep blue and red tones. Please note: one of the vases is missing its base – as a decorative object this does not detract from its beauty. The dark patinated bronze and the colourful enamel form a beautiful contrast: Oriental art with character. As a symmetrical pair on a mantelpiece or sideboard, in a classic, Oriental or eclectic interior. Dimensions: height 24 cm, width 17 cm, depth 12 cm (each). Material: bronze, cloisonné / champlevé enamel. Period: late 19th century. Origin: Japan. Quantity: 2 pieces. Condition: good; one vase is missing its base.
