Portrait of a Lady in pastel, signed Xavier Allard

Beautiful portrait of an elegant woman made in pastel by the artist Xavier Allard, signed lower right in pastel also. Xavier Allard, Belgian painter, from Liège and born in 1900, was part of the Atelier group in 1934 (end of the group in 1939, the war forcing them to stop). His works were then shown, among others, at the Carrefour des Arts exhibition in Brussels in 1958. He was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège in the 1970s. Posthumous collective exhibition in Florennes in 1999. Frame dimensions: 58 X 50 X 3 cm Sold under glass and frame. Good general condition of the pastel, small pastel deposits on the internal glass, small wear to the frame. The photos are part of the description.
