Large enamelled earthenware dish signed Tony Jaillet from the 1950s-60s.

Large dish for use or wall decoration in glazed earthenware, featuring incised decorations of fish and seaweed. Sgraffito work (incisions in the material to reveal the underlying colour) with cloisonné glazes, typical of the decorative arts of this period, and highlights in gold on the edges and patterns. Powdered salmon pink textured background with black and gold motifs, influenced by "Retro" or "Mid-Century Modern" styles. Signed in relief on the back "Tony Jaillet Chalon S/S - Handmade". A famous ceramist from Chalon-sur-Saône (1950-1960) known for his work with glazed earthenware. Wall hanging present. Very good condition. Length 44 cm, Width 30 cm, Height 4.5 cm.
